Cage The Elephant's New Video, Band News and Album
If you haven't seen it already here is Cage the Elephant's new music video "Come a little Closer" via RCA records. The video is old-skool and tripped out reminding Gabe of Mgmt and me off children scribbling with crayons outside the lines. I first heard the song on the radio a couple months ago when it was going for airplay in NZ. I think it prefers the computer screen to be honest, its just more chilled out and not so much a dodgy-radio song laughs.
What I also found shocking was Cage's long-term guitarist leaving the band. Lincoln Parish had been with the guys for over ten years, beginning when he was only 15. He's now just on the verge of 25 and has turned to the role of the producer in Nashville aka "Music City". Although the guitarists departure from the band is a significant he will probably help out a lot shaping and playing on the bands later records. Parish decided that he wasn't all that into touring and really just wanted to make records for living. A ballsy move in my opinion especially when you are leaving something that you've spent so long building up. Lincoln's words kind of sum it up i've spent '1/3 of my life rocking in the band".
Here is also the fans stand out track "Cigarette Daydreams", its a more relaxed tune but it could definetly grow on you if given a chance;
And if your a real fiend here is the whole album "Melophobia" to stream on youtube:

Premier: The Neo-Kalashnikovs - "Blue Lithium" music video (Shot in Dublin, Ireland)
Hi guys here is our latest music video "Blue Lithium". After filming the "Gorgeous Baby" video I dropped into Dublin, Ireland. Well Dolphin Barn to be exact were our family rock out. The thing I love most about Dublin has to be the Guinness, there's just nothing like a Guinness in Dublin lol. The statute of my hero Phil Lynott the lead singer and bass player of Thin Lizzy is also a highlight in the heart of the city. The video "Blue Lithium" was shot and directed by our youngest niece Tallulah Davey and styled by Bella Davey.
The recording is really indie and raw. I guess thats what happens when you record in an ex-gambling facility with a microphone and a pre-amp. The video is inspired by the economic turmoil in Ireland. Especially the issues of rising prices and living costs faced by the people in their struggle against the banks. We really hope things turn around in Dublin because the city is truly breath taking and the people even more so.
Buy "Blue Lithium" here for 1 EURO or the whole "Take it Or Leave It" E.P for 2 EUROs
