The Neo-Kalashnikovs play UFO venue in association with Power Tool Records, Hauraki FM and Rocawave Records and R&B promotion. The band is really excited to be playing in Auckland City after our shows across the North Island in May and will be performing a lot of new material forth coming on our second album "Urban Warfare". We also have a cool announcement in the works for the South Island!!!

The 2014 Kerouac Effect - Featuring Tourettes & Volita of The Neo-Kalashnikovs

Linguistic Rap genius Tourettes will be teaming up with Volita Bioletti of The Neo-Kalashnikovs for "The 2014 Kerouac Effect" happening Thursday 13th of March at The Winchester. The show celebrates the poetry of Jack Kerouac and will see 12 musicians and 12 poets take to the stage for one  night only to preform two brand new works. The collaborators will meld original music and words together in the heart of Auckland city. It promises to be truly exciting night of entertainment for music and poetry lovers alike. Shane Hollands the founder of the event will also feature in the line-up!

The Neo-Kalashnikovs were stoked to be
 a part of the TV2 2014 rebrand. The Director and crew were super nice. The camera man was really talented. Apparently the camera was shooting at 1000 frames a second and I can tell you it was a hefty piece of hardware. The lighting man on set was from the Hobbit and he did an awesome job. On set it was kind of free form and we were more or less left to jam in the garage, that is until a giant explosion went off and shot littles "2's" everywhere! :)

On the take that TV2 kept Volita almost got her leg blown off and fell over. The look of rock angst is actually pure pain haha. But every aspect of the shoot was pure fun. Moss also screwed up the slow-motion cymbal shot hence there's no cymbal shot haha. Our stylist was Lisa Matson at http://www.lisamatson.co really helped fine tune Volita's outfit and was brilliant to work with :) Moss on the other hand was given the o.k from the director straight away in his own clothes that he specifically chose. Bass player Gabriel is wearing a "Cage the Elephant" t-shirt. The song was stock production music from Sony/ATV. Hopefully the band gets the o.k from the director next time to use our own song. Great to see Jules and John from Freaky Meat on the weekend. Absolutely brilliant to hear the new single they've cooked up "Slow Cooking In The Ghost Kitchen"!!! 

Outstanding production guys. Great to hear Olly "Magic" Harmers skills in the mix. Looking forward to seeing the video for it! might have to enlist my friend Daniel into help edit the final cut! 

The Freaks song will also be sent to radio alongside Cure Motel single "Do It (Your Own Way)". Both songs were mastered by Grammy winner Brian Lucey who masteredThe Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys
