The Neo-Kalashnikovs & Force Fields - North Island NZ Tour in May (NZ Music Month)

The Neo-Kalashnikovs & Force Fields - First leg of the NZ TOUR 2014

Forcefields (WGTN) and The Neo-Kalashnikovs (AKL) plan to decimate the North Island’s main centres;
Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington in May (NZmusic month). They aim to build local buzz around their new singles “Zeroing” & “Treat Me Right”

The tour came about from a chance encounter online. The bands have never met so it will either be a
saucy first-date or perhaps a steamy love affair who knows? There might be a shotgun wedding in Auckland, a motel honeymoon in Hamilton or an expensive divorce in Wellington. What’s going to
happen in Palmy is anyones guess? One thing is for sure though both bands mean business!

With Forcefield’s solid live reputation in Wellington and The Neos heavy radio play on Hauraki FM
this is a tour for NZ rock fans nationwide. From the angst student to the tough nut tradey and all
those uptight brain surgeons in between ‘we will rock you!’ With brain-splattering bass, face searing guitars & soul wrenching vocals they’ve got you bro!

Tickets available on the door for just $10 and $15 with your very own signed CD

Tour Dates:
Friday May 2nd - Tabac, Auckland
Saturday May 3rd - Altitude Bar, Hamilton
Friday May 16th - The Royal, Palmy
Saturday May 17th - Bodega, Wellington

Lorde & James Blake "Grammy Mash-up"

While having my morning coffee I decided to mash-up of Lorde's "Royals" and James Blake's "Suddenly I See" because they're so brilliant.  Pretentious live videos in radio stations were a direct influence on my performance, they really helped propel me towards the stars like a cannonball  The video really shines after the 5th repeat watch. I wouldn't be surprised if they ripped me off, just sayin, Moss Rock.

Brand New Music: Volita Bioletti (The Neos) & These Violent Delights - Limited Run almost Sold Out!!!

Writer: Moss Rock
I trooped off to the show-case of "Volita Bioletti & These Violent Delights" this Thursday at
Whangaparaoa. Our hosts Reggie and James Cameron of (Coast Open mic night) were lovely
as always and the Belly dancers were amazing!!! It was a great night all round and awesome
to see the accumulation of Volita's hard-work producing the record for the Auckland veteran
rockers TVD.

In my opinion the performance reeked of 90's alt-rock with a distinctly British flavour.
And my stand out track of the night was "Underground". I absolutely loved this track.
I talked to co-producer and talented multi-instrumentalist AJ of TVD and he also thinks
that song is a keeper!! I am almost certain my favourite song on the night could be the
front runner for the lead single off the record.
Time will tell as the official release will be out early 2014. However, there are so many
strong songs it really will be hard to choose.

I pressed up a limited run off 30 pre-release cd's for the event and only have 5 left.

If any rockers in the building want a copy of the "Volita Bioletti &
These Violent Delights" (Pre-release) feel free to email: Rocawaverecords@gmail.com
for your copy. It's on sale for $5 plus postage and all proceeds go towards band activities
(gotta love those activities :) The cd would definitely make a fine present for an avid Neos
fan, especially if its a surprise! and its not available any where Digitally!!!

The songs featured on the record are:

1) My Violent Delight        (Full on Rock Song)
2) Ophelia                          (Alternative Rock song - The fan favourite)
3) Take Me Out Tonight    (Classic Kiwi Rock song)

There are a lot of guitars on this record so turn it up loud and Rock On!!!! Neos

Sleeper Agent's New Rock Single "Waves" - A Dose of Californication

Sleeper Agent is a young rock band from Bowling Green Kentucky, in the USA and hail from the same underground rock scene as Cage the Elephant. Both the bands veteran guitarists remember swinging around on bar tables and generally getting raucous in the early days of their "Rocknroll degrees" before snatching deals from the majors. After placing songs in car commercials playing packed out concerts with Weezer and generally being good dudes Sleeper Agent are back with their new single "Waves". The song is pretty chilled out and sings about relaxing in California, something that I can definitely relate too (and the Kings of Leons aka "California Waiting" cover).
If you haven't been to Los Angeles the feeling is kind of hard to describe but you can capture it anywhere in the state. I guess it's just the pure dopiness underpinning the capital of world entertainment. And its not the dopiness of down and outers buzzing out on Sunset Boulevards in the middle of the night. Instead of picturing a dark nightmare try and conjure up a euphoric feeling, like living in a fairytale were everyone is satisfied. The reason for the happiness in LA is because everyone has travelled hundreds of miles across the U.S in the vast majority in search of opportunity a career or at the very least a good time. When I listen to Sleeper Agents song Waves this is what it reminds me of the very fabric of the West Coast built up over time and cemented by the carefree days and great vibes in the sweet sunshine. Perhaps the Chilli Peppers hit the nail on the head when they named that special buzz 'Californication'. Whatever it is The Eagles, Gram Parson and the plethora of other countless Californian legends didn't come out of nowhere. And neither did Sleeper Agent so keep your ears perked for the new record dropping early 2014, on Mom + Pop/RCA. On a personal note I am really looking forward to the rockier material on record. I just hope my computer speakers can cope with the  audio onslaught on full volume, fingers crossed they survive !!!
