THE BLACK KEYS "Turn Blue" Album Cover Leaks Online

The Black Keys "Turn Blue" cover art designed by in-house Grammy award winning designer Michael Carney has apparently been leaked online. Insiders suspect a rabid groupie called Linda close to the rockstars committed such a venomous act. The well known drunk nick-named "Linda-Loo" as she is well known for spewing in toilets apparently got enraged when her mustard double cheese hamburger did not arrive on time while recording at the Black Keys Nashville based studio. It is still unverified whether this is in fact the cover art for the bands eminent release across North America. However, what has been discovered by a loose lipped recording engineer out of music city is that Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have been bickering over the album cover for months. The bone of contention has been the hue of the blue elephant that the band commissioned to sit on top of a life size elephant toilet. The photo was rumored to have been shot in Africa on Twitter and by all accounts the toilet looks fully functional. Amongst other controversies the Black Keys have been taking to social media to market their new album through Mike Tyson's twitter account. The Bilboard Hot 100 said it was a brilliant move for the band to attack the boxing fan demographic. This often overlooked section of the record buying public has not yet realized that you can download music for free on the internet. Their record company None Such records part of the juggernaut Warner Sisters says they hope to see sales triple in the Keys first week.

The Rolling Stones, Bobby Womack and Jimi Hendrix - It's All Over Now

The Story of It's All Over Now

This song was written by Bobby Womack and then covered by The Rolling Stones. The song was originally realeased by The Valentinos but failed to get past 97 on Bilboard Hot 100. The Rolling Stones then sent out their version and it went straight to number one, their first ever across the Atlantic. Sam Cooke the legendary sould/gospel/rock musician had to convince Womack to let the band cover the song, he knew  they were gonna be massive. He tried to explain the new music to his great friend Bobby who he toured with for many years in his autobiography;

"Mike Jagger can't sing, the band plays out of tune but they are the only ones that do what they do, if you want it you need to get it from the Stones, you can't buy it in a drugstore"

Coming from Cleveland, Ohio and the gospel scene Bobby just couldn't get his head around the band and their anti-musicianship. He would go on to continue screaming about how the Rolling Stones were stealing his song and how they can go F themselves. That is until his first royalty check rolled through the letterbox...he said that he's been hounding the band ever since to cover another song haha.

A Few Fun Womack Facts:

1) Bobby's family grew up in the heart of the ghetto of Cleveland in a one room house for all 8 family members, rats bigger than cats were common on the streets and he didn't realize that Chickens had breasts until he was 12 because the family were so poor they only ate the necks!

2) His dad had a music group with his friends and they use to practice in his house after getting back from the car factory. They would come over and eat all the doughnuts that the family could possibly provide (which wasn't many). The 5 or so brothers would then began to imitate their dads friends once they left singing and hollering. At first their father thought that they were taking the piss out of them but he then realized that he had been given his deepest desire; Four singing sons, was what he had always wanted. He then began to relentless train the boys eventually leading to the careers that would see Bobby sell well over 30 million records. It was also the catalyst for Cecil Womack the youngest sons brilliant music with Womack and Womack.

3) Bobby was almost murdered by his wife for sexual stupidity
4) The Valentinos were mentored by James Brown in New York, he was by the sounds of it a very tough drill sergeant of soul, but he whipped them into shape in one week flat.

5) He was friends with Jimi Hendrix and toured with him in the early days of his career with Sam Cooke. One of his brothers even threw Hendrix's guitar off the tour bus because he thought the voodoo child had stolen his money out his shoe, no one had bank accounts. Thats the reason why all the singers and players had gold watches to pawn them and live off it and get it back when they were touring through again. Jimi was also accused by Womack of never taking a rest from playing guitar except for going to the loo. Anyway Bobby owns one of Hendrix's guitars that was gifted to him. He turned down a small fortune to retain it from a dealer and still has it to this day.

An Album Review of The Buffalo Killers: Dig.Sow.Love.Grow

The Buffalo Killers album Dig.Sow.Love.Grow was released in the earlier part of 2012.The remarkably elegant album from the rockers from Cincinnati, Ohio is warm enough to melt the dust off any diamond record needle. You can easily hear the effort that has gone into making this album.The man behind the magic desk was Mike Montgomery clearly a mix master of an engineer.

The Buffalo Killers if you aren't familiar with them have recently finished up a tour with "The Sheep Dogs" who graced The Rolling Stone last year. The band has also toured with "The Black Keys" the biggest rock band in the world (move over U2). Dan Auberach lead guitarist/ vocalist of "the keys" also produced an earlier second album called 'Let it Ride" by the band .Interestingly enough both bands share the same legendary label Alive Records which is also home to Radio Moscow, T Model Ford, Left lane Cruiser, amongst other South U.S rock artists.   

The first track off Dig.Sow.Love.Grow "Get it" immediately draws me back to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" arguably one of the greatest rock songs ever. The drumming and vocal delivery delivery on this track are immaculate. The understated but "knawerring rifff" also make this song a real hollering rock jam. The song also reminds of Lynrd Skynrd's music produced by the legendary Al Kooper. A person rumoured to have ripped the "Sweet Home Alabama" artists off for millions earlier in their career.

I can hear that Dig.Sow.Love.Grow has a somewhat melancholy feeling. It's as if someone has been left behind broken down lying on the floor then getting up with a vengeance to become a better man. A past lovers immature actions have obviously inspired a real rock album born out of fury. There are songs that counter such an overwhelming feeling for instance "Hey Girl" is more upbeat and could easily be a song off Jack White's latest album Blunderbuss. I can easily see the harmonised guitar licks getting the nod of approval from the music baron residing in Music City- aka Nashville City. Shout out to my friends on Music Row like Jim Zumwalt hope Cage the Elephant are behaving themselves.

However, in the majority songs like "Blood on your hands" ,"I am always here" and "Farewell" do lead one to the speedy suspicions of a painful heartbreak episode. Who said it was easy living in the South. My stand out favourite off the record is "Graffiti Eggplant" that clearly states sometimes a lovers "absence is not a surprise".What truly glistens for me on this album if I'm to be frank are the influences of Buffalo Killers .Acts ranging from Neil Young to Cream to Deep Purple are all screaming out of my speakers in a gumbo of southern rock soup. Even if rocks legacy has been completely lost upon the "Dubstep generation" it's only a matter of time. The screaming guitars off Fun's 1# smash "Some Nights" is clearly conveying a turn towards rock filtering back into the mainstream. A modern reinvigorating punch brings back rock in Dig.Sow.Love.Grow. to the musical frontier.
