Fashion Designer John Varvatos starts a new Major Record Label in the U.S.A

The Well-known fashion designer, John Varvatos has started a new record company John Varvatos Records. It will formally launch sometime this year and will have Varvatos serving as the curator as well as president of the label which will see him signing new acts as well as releasing high profile reissues and compilations. The collaboration will bring together two distinct brands with a goal of releasing timeless records under the imprint's focus of "genuine music in the spirit of legends."

The John Varvatos brand has previously been involved with the launch of high-profile campaigns featuring artists such as Willie Nelson, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Chris Cornell, Joe Perry, Velvet Revolver, Green Day, Gary Clark Jr., Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Dave Matthews. Legendary rock band KISS are currently the face of the company's spring 2014 campaign. In 2008, Varvatos took over the iconic CBGB's location for one of his New York storefronts which has since hosted free shows from artists like Guns N' Roses, Jane's Addiction, Slash, Tom Morello, The Roots and many others.Varvatos comments; “Music has always been my big passion and an energy force in my life. Republic Records is home to Lorde  and Mr Varvatos label could be the one to release her next record , but only if it's not to rock centric otherwise he needs The Neos haha :)

What is it about Chuck Taylors ??

The weird thing about Chuck Taylor shoes are there success in my view. A little piece of canvas with a shoe sole and a great emblem has destroyed the choice for hipsters. The kids know that a pair of shoes which will always undeniably cool for anyone who isn't too old is the Converse All Star. It looks so unassuming but theres something deeply attached to it that has fostered it's success. I'm not stupid I know that they're branding budget for the shoe would be in the tens if not hundreds of millions but thats not the catalyst for it's success it only maintains it. 

In my opinion what makes the Converse so successful is it's the vibe. The shoe stands for a freedom that is an obvious big F you to all other shoes and fashion in general. While everyone has moon boots with their Nike Swooshs and amazing gadgets the converse has jack all. Essential the shoe is a metaphorical under dog that is supported by youngsters of every generation to show the established old farts they suck.
